Across the Pacific Ocean, rhinoplasty is becoming an increasingly popular procedure for Indian youth. Consider a recent article for The New Indian Express titled “Rhinoplasty Gaining Popularity among Youth.”
J Deepti Nandan Reddy of The New Indian Express writes, “Rhinoplasty, the surgical correction of nose either for cosmetic purposes or cure certain breathing problems, is gaining popularity among Indian youth. Rhinoplasty in simple terms means plastic surgery done on nose. Nose plastic surgery is done to correct nose deformities like saddle nose, flat nose, bulbous tip of the nose, hump nose, among other deformities. In all these cases the surgery of nose is done for cosmetic purposes, said Dr N Vishnu Swaroop Reddy, chief facial plastic surgeon and Head of Department of ENT, facial plastic, head and neck surgery, Care Hospitals, Hyderabad explaining about rhinoplasty. Besides cosmetic reasons, rhinoplasty is also done for functional purposes as in case of treating of breathing related problems. For instance in case of treating blockages in nose, straightening of deviated nasal septum, among other problems, rhinoplasty is done for improving the functioning of breathing system.”
Nola.com also discusses rhinoplasty and specifically, how to ensure the best possible outcomes, in a recent article titled “4 Ways to Ensure The Best Outcomes After Functional Rhinoplasty Surgery.” Among the suggestions is making sure to plan two clinic visits before the procedure. According to the author of the article, “During your initial consultation, your doctor will complete a general examination, ask about medical history, order a CT scan if necessary, and take detailed photographs of your nose. At that time, you’ll also schedule a follow-up visit. Michael A. Seicshnaydre, MD., at Gulf Coast Rhinoplasty explained why a second visit is so important. “Between your first and second visit, I will have printed the photographic views of your nose, studied them, and completed a detailed analysis of your nose and a surgical plan for success,” Dr. Seicshnaydre said. “During this second visit, it will be important for you and I to go through these to make sure we both have a clear understanding of your goals for the appearance and functioning of your nose.””
If you are considering rhinoplasty, you need a surgeon you can trust. Rex E. Moulton-Barrett, M.D. is internationally known and acknowledged. He is board certified with The American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and The American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Moulton-Barrett’s rhinoplasty procedure hardly shows any evidence of incisions. Not long after the surgery, the skin and soft tissues will reform over the new nasal framework and most patients can appreciate their new look within a couple of weeks.
