CoolSculpting is gaining popularity throughout the country. There is a reason why. Consider a recent article for the Telegraph titled “Try CoolSculpting: there’s a slim chance this might work.”

Katy Young of the Telegraph writes, “I have always avoided hi-tech treatments that promise to zap the fat from your thighs, stomach and arms, on the basis that no one really knew where that fat eventually went. But with news that non-invasive body contouring is one of the fastest-growing treatments, the time has come for me to tackle the fat head on – or at least on my tubby knees.  I am not alone in wanting a diet- and gym-free alternative to removing a stubborn bulge; 23 million of us are interested in testing out one of the new, non-invasive, fat-removal methods in the salon. A consumer study reveals that these treatments are now twice as likely to be searched on Google than toxins to freeze or fillers to plump up our faces. The leader of the fat-removal pack, and the treatment I’ve opted for, is Zeltiq’s CoolSculpting. With about 2.5 million procedures to date, it is the global market leader in a now bulging $48 billion fat-removal market. So why this method of fat loss? Pain-, laser-, needle-, and scar- free, it is the only cold-based treatment cleared by America’s Food and Drug Administration, and it is also classified as a Class IIa medical device by the European Commission. Which is why only 50 salons in the UK have the fat-freezing machine – clinics need to prove their credentials before they are so much as allowed to apply for one. It works by gently sucking fatty tissue into a vice-like contraption, whereby fat cells are frozen at temperatures as low as -12C, a process referred to as cryolipolysis. Once iced and solid, these fat cells are then broken down and later passed through the body’s natural lymphatic drainage system, never to return.”
